Change has a way of revealing how little control we actually have.
In John 17:11–13, Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure by praying for the Father to keep them in His name and preserve their unity.
Jesus knows hardship is ahead. His prayer points them toward the Father’s faithful care and the joy found in belonging to Him.
We can bring Him our changing circumstances, too: unfamiliar responsibilities, uncertain plans, and the things keeping us awake.
His care does not promise an easy transition. It gives us reason to depend on Him through it.
Father, help us trust You and stay close to one another.
